It’s hard to believe that 2021 is coming to a close. What a year! No doubt we all deserve a little celebration for getting through, even if our parties still might look a little different this year.

New Year’s is such a lovely occasion to dress up a little, get together with loved ones, and reflect on what’s behind us and what’s to come. Whether your New Year’s Eve is a big bash like we used to have, or a more intimate celebration like we can expect this year, it’s always fun to look our best to welcome the new year.

Trust us – even if it’s just you and your main squeeze on the couch, you’ll have much more fun toasting to midnight wearing something sparkly than something made of flannel!

Similar to our favourite fashions for small weddings, our favourite New Year’s Eve fashion is dressy but not too dressy. The best New Year’s fashion will also be versatile, so you can easily repurpose it for other events throughout the year. Keep reading for some inspo.

Casual Cocktail

We’ve dubbed our favorite look of the season ‘casual cocktail.’ Since we’re looking at more intimate New Year’s Eve parties this year, we know many of us will want to look special and put together, but not too over the top. And when do we not want to be comfy?

These Canadian-designed Frank Lyman pieces do just that. These are really beautiful outfits, and they’re as comfortable as they are flattering. The draping in particular offers lots of room to move and breathe (often welcome after our holiday feasts!), while still looking so sophisticated.

Comfy Pants

Of course, you don’t need a cocktail dress to look stylish and put together. Trust us: it’s absolutely possible to be the best dressed and the most fashionable person in the room!
