Can you believe it’s almost Christmas? I feel like we say that every year! While we can’t necessarily see all of our loved ones and friends this season, we can still be positive and think of other ways to connect.
While COVID-19 is keeping us home, that doesn’t mean that we can’t celebrate. I hope you’re able to spend the season with family and make some memorable new traditions. Here are a few ideas I have for fun things to do within your household or virtually (using Zoom or Skype):
- Bake Christmas cookies or build a gingerbread house
- Have a holiday movie night
- Sing carols or play instruments
- Go for a walk or drive to look at Christmas lights
- Play holiday-themed board games
Whatever you choose to do this season, I’ve got four holiday fashion ideas to help you look and feel fabulous!
1. LOUNGING AROUND.
It’s so relaxing to wear PJs or loungewear in front of the fireplace, reading a good book and sipping on a hot drink.
Look for cute pairs of soft pants and sweatshirts, or combine an oversized sweater with leggings or sweatpants.
One of my favourite outfits for the holidays: A cozy FIRMA Energywear (FIRMA Energywear Canada / FIRMA Energywear USA) crew neck paired with lounge leggings. It not only looks and feels great, it offers health benefits. Our FIRMA Energywear line provides gentle compression and increases circulation with its therapeutic technology.
The results:
- Clinically proven anti-cellulite claims with consistent wear* through increased micro-circulation (*at least 6 hours per day for a month)
- Improved skin health, clarity, smoothness, and elasticity
- Increased body thermoregulation, lower muscle fatigue, and reduction of lactic acid buildup, which lead to significant performance advantages
Add some fuzzy slippers or socks and you’re set for the most comfy Christmas yet!
2. KEEPING IT (PRETTY) CASUAL.
Maybe you’re taking photos at home with family, or doing a Christmas Eve video chat with friends. You want to be comfortable, but you also want to incorporate a little holiday sparkle into your outfits for the holidays.
Do both with casual wear from Bella Amore Italy. Festive silver detailing takes it beyond basic black. Some silver or red jewelry and red or berry-coloured lipstick would let you dress it up a bit without compromising comfort.
3. FEELING FANCY.
If you feel like the season is missing something if you don’t get to wear something formal at least once, I get it! You may want to wear a special outfit to get into the Christmas spirit.
While we won’t have the option to attend big parties or crowd into restaurants for a cocktail, getting dressed up to spend time with your select few people makes the holidays brighter—and you’ll look amazing in family photos.
Look for fancier holiday fashion in Christmas colours, like a rich green piece from Joseph Ribkoff.
4. GOING ALL OUT.
Maybe you’ve got plans for a socially distanced visit with friends in the front yard, or want to take a nice winter walk with the kids or grandkids.
We have a great selection of warm outerwear, including this metallic puffer jacket from Frank Lyman. Even when you’re all bundled up, you’ll sparkle!
If you are heading out this winter, don’t forget your FIRMA face mask.
Although Christmas looks different this year, we can still be grateful for friends, family—and wonderful Malary’s customers. Whether it’s baking cookies, having a Christmas movie night or playing a game online as a group, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the season.
